For centuries we’ve been told the human heart is a pump whose sole function is to use force to push blood through our bodies. This is a worldwide accepted fact of life on earth.

It guides medical interventions for all kinds of heart problems and elevates our brain to be the magnificent organ that makes us who we are.

If it turns out that this idea is flawed and the heart is not a pump, then we’d have to ask many fundamental questions about what it means to be human again and find new answers that include the true nature of our hearts.

If you believe the heart is a pump and life is the outcome of a random, meaningless collision of atomic particles, you’re in for a big surprise.
